Ethics and academic integrity

Help that
survives scrutiny.

P.A.U.L supports understanding, method and communication. It does not manufacture credit for work a person did not do.

What P.A.U.L does

Legitimate support has a shape.

01

Method and design

Helping you choose a defensible approach, sampling strategy or analysis, and explaining why it fits your question.

02

Technical execution

Producing maps, spatial analyses, figures and processed datasets as commissioned professional work, properly attributed to P.A.U.L.

03

Editing and review

Improving structure, clarity and formatting of text you wrote, and identifying weaknesses for you to address.

04

Teaching and explanation

Walking through a method until you can defend it yourself in a viva, a review or a meeting.

05

Reporting for institutions

Analysing and presenting results for schools and organisations, where the commissioning body is the author of the decision.

06

Professional deliverables

Proposals, posters, presentations and reports produced under a named commercial engagement, not submitted as someone's own assessed work.

What P.A.U.L declines.

01

Assessed work substitution

Writing or completing an assignment, dissertation chapter, examination or coursework that will be submitted as the client's own effort. This holds regardless of deadline pressure or offered fee.

02

Fabricated evidence

Inventing data, results, citations, interview responses or field observations. If the data does not exist, P.A.U.L will say so rather than produce something plausible.

03

Misrepresented authorship

Ghost authorship arrangements, or presenting commissioned analysis as independent peer review. Contributions should be acknowledged as what they were.

04

Impersonation

Acting as a client in correspondence with an institution, supervisor, journal or examiner.

05

Predetermined conclusions

Analysis commissioned to reach a specified result. P.A.U.L reports what the data supports, including when that is inconvenient.

Your responsibility

Declare the help you receive.

Institutions differ in what support they permit. Before commissioning work connected to a qualification, check your institution's rules on third-party assistance and acknowledgement. Every client confirms an integrity declaration when submitting a request.

If a request falls outside these boundaries, P.A.U.L will explain why and, where possible, offer the legitimate version of the same help. A declined request is not a judgement of the person asking. Concerns about work delivered under the P.A.U.L name can be raised at support@paulresearch.online.
