Approval is service-specific
A specialist approved for cartographic design is not thereby approved for statistical analysis. Each service a provider may offer is listed explicitly, and anything outside it is declined.

Specialists
P.A.U.L is a curated network, not an open marketplace. Every specialist is approved for named services, against specific evidence.
Current status
P.A.U.L is reviewing its first provider applications. Rather than publish a thin or unverified list, the public directory opens once enough specialists have completed identity, qualification and portfolio review.
In the meantime, work is delivered directly by P.A.U.L. If you need something now, start a request and it will be scoped as a managed service.
Government-issued identification reviewed privately by a designated verification administrator. Raw documents are never shown on a public profile — only the outcome.
Degrees, certifications and issuing institutions examined against evidence that can be independently confirmed.
Actual work samples assessed for competence, not merely for presentation.
Separate checks for distinct skills — a GIS sample, a writing sample, a linked publication. Each is recorded on its own terms.
A versioned provider agreement covering confidentiality, academic integrity, intellectual property and correction responsibilities, recorded with its version and timestamp.
Two principles
A specialist approved for cartographic design is not thereby approved for statistical analysis. Each service a provider may offer is listed explicitly, and anything outside it is declined.
Confirming that someone is who they claim says nothing about the quality of their work. That is why evidence is labelled by type rather than reduced to a single badge or star rating.
Applications are open to researchers, GIS and remote-sensing professionals, analysts, designers, editors and mentors. Submission does not guarantee approval, and review takes as long as the evidence requires.
